The JL17 diode laser uses the principle of selective photothermolysis – precisely targeted light energy with a wavelength of 980 nm is absorbed by hemoglobin in dilated blood vessels. During very short laser pulses, the vessels contract, blood flow stops, and the vessel is gradually reabsorbed by the body.
